It aggravates me when you tell someone something that’s bothering you or you pour your heart out, and they just don’t respond. It doesn’t matter if you disagree. It doesn’t matter if it’s not about one of your interests. They just need you to fucking listen. When your friend tells you something that’s clearly very personal, you respond as a friend would. If they ask for advice, then voice your opinions but by ignoring your friend’s deep thoughts through not responding, you’re slowly but surely telling them that you don’t care about them. And that’s hurtful not only to them but to the relationship.
"People say to you, ‘you’ve changed’, or something like that, well, I hope, for the sake of God that you have changed, because I don’t want to be the same person all my life. I want to be growing, I want to be expanding. I want to be changing. Because animate things change, inanimate things don’t change. Dead things don’t change. And the heart should be alive, it should be changing, it should be moving, it should be growing, its knowledge should be expanding."
